A man who once skipped court on theft charges because he was allegedly committing a robbery that day has pleaded guilty to the latter offence.
Steven James McQueen, 47, was denied bail after that by Vancouver Provincial Court Judge Ellen Gordon after a hearing June 15.
Records show he was due in Downtown Community Court on a theft under $5,000 charge. That related to an April 24 allegation of theft from a London Drugs location. He received bail on that charge.
Now, he has pleaded guilty.
He was also on bail after appearing on a charge of obstructing the operation of a Vancouver 7-Eleven April 9.
McQueen also received bail after being charged with theft under $5,000 in connection with an incident at a Vancouver London Drugs May 2.
When he appeared before Judge Donna Senniw Oct. 11, McQueen appeared by video from the North Fraser remand centre where he remains in custody.
However, McQueen also faces a charge of failing to comply with a March 31 court order from Alberta Court of King’s Bench alleging failure to comply with an order that he didn't report to a registration centre Aug. 22-Sept. 22, 2022.
He has now also pleaded guilty to that charge.
The court information on that case notes McQueen previously went by the name Steven James Petiquan.
For that name, court files from Vancouver, Nanaimo, New Westminster, Abbotsford and Port Coquitlam show guilty findings on charges of possession of stolen property, theft under $5,000, breach of recognizance, breaches of probation, assaulting a police officer and failure to provide a sample.
