Two more Metro Vancouver establishments have found themselves on Fraser Health's list of possible COVID-19 public exposures.
The health authority on Friday afternoon issued a public alert for B & J Barbershop in New Westminster, one day after warning the community about a possible coronavirus exposure event at Browns Socialhouse Panorama, in Surrey.
The notice is directed at anyone who stopped by either location during a series of specified dates and times earlier last month:
B & J Barbershop, 212 E Columbia Street in New Westminster:
- Saturday, March 20, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Browns Socialhouse Panorama, 15260 56 Avenue in Surrey:
- Tuesday, March 23 & Wednesday, March 24, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Thursday, March 25 & Friday, March 26, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday, March 27, 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Though Fraser Health says the potential exposure events are believed to be low risk, public health officials ask anyone who visited either the barbershop or the restaurant during the above-listed dates and times to monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19. There is no known risk to anyone who attended either business outside of those specified dates and times.
The health authority lists public exposures on their website in order to reach any people who may have potentially become infected who they could not contact privately.
"If people remain healthy and do not develop symptoms, there is no need to self-isolate and people can continue with their usual daily activities," explains Fraser Health.
Those who do develop any symptoms of COVID-19 are urged to seek testing and then immediately self-isolate.
