Massey Theatre offers half-price shows for front-line workers, arts workers

The Massey Theatre is reaching out to show its gratitude to front-line workers and artists.

The New Westminster theatre is offering half-price tickets to all health-care workers, front-line workers, performing arts workers and artists. The ticket deal will be available for the Arts Club Theatre Company's production of Noises Off, coming to the Massey stage from Feb. 15 to 27.

"It is a show filled with laughter, lightness and energy and is sure to bring a spark of joy and that feeling of celebration we need," said a post from the theatre. "We all need connection. While we can’t gather in all the ways that we may want to, we can celebrate through the shared experience of the arts."

The offer extends to all people working in health-care and on the front lines of the pandemic response.

"We’ve been witnessing the difficult work of health-care and front-line workers: teachers, retail workers, restaurant and hospitality staff, delivery people, grocery clerks, and more ... you know who you are!" the post says. 

"For two years now, they have given of themselves more than they knew they could. And it isn’t over yet. Our community members in the performing arts have lost work, motivation and well-being by not being able to practise, perform and bring art to everyday life."

And if you're not one of those people but know someone who is? The Massey team suggests buying them a ticket as a thank you, and you can enjoy the show together.
