And then there were seven.
Queensborough Middle School has been added to the Fraser Health school exposures list for an exposure that occurred at the school on May 12, 13 and 14.
That brings to seven the number of New Westminster schools that have seen COVID-19 exposures in May, following exposures at Lord Kelvin Elementary, New Westminster Secondary, Qayqayt Elementary, Lord Tweedsmuir Elementary, Glenbrook Middle School and Connaught Heights Elementary. Of those, three (Lord Kelvin, NWSS and Glenbrook) have seen two exposures apiece so far in May.
An "exposure" means someone who has since tested positive for COVID-19 (student or staff) was in the school during their potentially infectious period; it does not necessarily mean that anyone has acquired or transmitted the virus within the school.
