18-year-old Richmond man dies in Surrey rollover crash

Speed is believed to have been a factor in a fatal crash early Monday morning.

An 18-year-old from Richmond died in a car in Surrey early Monday morning.

Surrey police say an 18-year-old man from Richmond was one of two victims in a crash in Surrey early Monday morning.

The other victim in the rollover crash was a 15-year-old girl from Surrey, according to Surrey RCMP.

Surrey RCMP responded early Monday morning to a report of a rollover in the northbound lane of Highway 99 between 16th and 32nd avenues in Surrey. 

When RCMP and the Surrey Fire Service arrived, the car was fully engulfed in flames. The driver and passenger were found deceased in the car.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to Sgt. Tammy Lobb, media spokesperson for the Surrey RCMP.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash-camera footage from the area is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
