Only 3 'Concert of a Lifetime' winning tickets left as epic B.C. lottery's deadline looms

"Is it Over Now?" Not yet...but soon.

"Is it Over Now?" Not yet...but soon.

The BCLC's Concert of a Lifetime scratch-and-win tickets - targeting Taylor Swift fans "Down Bad" to score coveted access to the pop superstar's upcoming Eras Tour stop in Vancouver - have been on sale since "August." Now, with a total of seven winning tickets claimed, just three remain in play...but there's a looming deadline.

The remaining Top Prize winners have until end of day on Friday, October 25, 2024 to claim their prize to be eligible to win the Grand Prize — a suite at BC Place for 14 people for one of the biggest concerts of the year, the BCLC shared on Wednesday (Oct. 23).

Four more Top Prize winners have come forward, each garnering $25,000 in winnings, but, perhaps more importantly, entry into a draw to win that suite and all the perks that come with it.

The first-of-its-kind BCLC scratch-and-win tickets, which cost $25 apiece, will get 10 people a cash prize of $25,000 each. Of those 10 winners from around the province, "The Lucky One" will have the "Enchanted" concert experience of a lifetime.

The BCLC profiled the latest winners in its media release:

  • Angela Gugins from Langley was out buying a birthday cake and decided to buy a ticket from Costco in Langley. She is “excited and happy” to win $25,000 and plans to do something fun with her winnings but mentioned “the adult in me will probably save it.” If she were to win the Grand Prize, she plans to take her sisters, mom and friends to the concert.
  • Joyce Pottinger from Smithers is “very happy” and plans to use her $25,000 prize to renovate her home. Pottinger purchased the winning ticket from Copperside VII on BC-16 and King Street in Smithers.
  • Katherine Dillman from Kamloops bought her ticket at Costco in Richmond and plans to use her $25,000 prize to pay off part of her mortgage. Dillman bought the ticket for her daughter as she’s a “huge fan” and mentioned she’s had her Grand Prize suite guest list prepared for a while – just in case she was to win. “You would not be allowed to come to this concert, unless you were a big fan!” said Dillman.
  • After tucking his ticket away in his glove compartment, Say Chan Voong exclaimed “wow!” when he realized he won $25,000. The Richmond resident purchased the ticket at Parker Place Convenience Centre at Parker Place in Richmond. Voong plans to use his winnings to celebrate with his family and will bring his niece and nephew to the concert if he wins the Grand Prize suite. “They are all fans!”

While the BCLC doesn't outright say the "Concert of a Lifetime" is Taylor Swift and The Eras Tour, the date and venue mean it's the first of the music superstar's three Vancouver shows. Swift plays BC Place on December 6, 7, and 8 this year, closing out her nearly two-year world tour here in Vancouver.

The Grand Prize draw takes place on Oct. 30, 2024, or sooner, if all Top Prizes are claimed.

Tickets are selling rapidly, and only 250,000 tickets were issued province-wide. Many retailers are continuing to replenish their stock.

Of course, it's a scratch-and-win, so all sorts of other lower-denomination cash prizes are also possible to win with the tickets.

The tickets are being sold all around the province at retailers who sell BC Lotto and you have to be 19 to play.
