British Columbians looking to forest bathe in their own beautiful backyard as the leaves change colours can browse some recommended spots this fall.
Hipcamp, an online platform sharing camp space, launched in Canada in June 2021. The company has compiled a list of the most beautiful spots to view fall foliage across the province.
The viewing spots include everything from a glamping experience in the Okanagan to a forested campsite on Vancouver Island.
Hipcamp hosts can leave reviews for campers in the same way campers leave reviews for hosts. When hosts leave a review for a camper, the reviews can be seen on the Hipcamper's profile page under "Reviews."

Spots to view fall foliage
This forest sanctuary is located between Gibsons and Sechelt on the slopes of Mt. Elphinstone in Roberts Creek. The host says it "makes for the perfect private nature retreat." Visitors must bring their own tents, vans and truck campers to enjoy the nature retreat that is surrounded by trees and close to the beach.
There are also pastures, terraces, pathways, a quaint pond and an outdoor pavilion with a lounge and kitchen so you can relax and take it all in.
Lake Glamping with Private Beach
Just north of Whistler, this outdoor experience is described as "one-of-a-kind private yurt glamping" situated by the pristine Anderson Lake that's surrounded by mountains. You'll have your own yurt, complete with a woodstove and kingsize bed to ensure you're cozy, too. A short stroll takes you to your own private beach, too.
Sea Change Farm and Nursery
Located on the west coast of Vancouver Island, visitors will need to bring their own tents, vans and truck campers, trailers, and RVs to these campsites. The adjacent forest provides "unparalleled fall foliage viewing opportunities." An "acre-sized pond" is a short stroll from the campsites and is home to some waterfowl. There's also a cafe nearby for snacks and drinks.
Off Grid Glamping - Private Sauna
From the private spa to the communal kitchen, this campsite provides the glamper’s dream getaway near Conkle Lake Provincial Park. Aside from soaking in the breathtaking fall foliage, guests may visit the farmers market, bike the kettle valley trail, or spend time in wine country.
To the side of the tent, a giant wine barrel has been converted into a wood-burning sauna and an outdoor tub and shower.
