Metro Vancouver's forecast ping-pongs back and forth a bit this week.
Sunday morning started off with some cloudy weather, but it's expected to clear up for the afternoon, says Environment Canada meteorologist Louis Kohanyi.
However, overnight, new clouds are arriving and bringing rain.
"On Monday, April 28, it'll be mainly cloudy and a frontal system will arrive," Kohanyi tells V.I.A. "The rain will begin around noon tomorrow."
The system will stick around through to Tuesday morning, he adds, and during that time, 5 to 10 mm of rain will fall.
"It's a light to moderate rain," he explains. "This is not bringing a lot of precipitation."
Kohanyi notes people heading out to vote won't be soaked like on the provincial election day, but it'll still be wet.
"Don't forget your umbrella when you go to vote," he says.
Temperatures on Monday will range between a high of 13 C and a low of 10 C.
Tuesday, once the rain stops in the mid-morning, it'll remain cloudy and warm up to a high of around 15 C.
And then things change.
"A ridge of high pressure is going to build on Wednesday," says Kohanyi. "It'll be mainly sunny with a high of 16 C and a low of 7 C overnight."
That ridge of high pressure will stay in place on Thursday, May 1.
"On Thursday, we have a high of 19 C, potentially 23 C inland," he explains, adding that inland refers to areas just a couple of kilometres away from the shore.
Thursday night, there will be another shift in the weather as clouds move in.
Friday morning, people will likely experience showers across Metro Vancouver.
"There's a 70 per cent chance of showers on Friday," Kohanyi says. "And a 60 per cent chance on Friday night."
That weather will be around through the weekend, but weaken over time.
"Saturday, we're looking at a 30 per cent chance of showers with a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon," Kohanyi explains.
