Celebrate Lunar New Year at Royal City Centre, where the festivities include a vibrant Lion Dance and opportunities to receive a lucky red envelope.

King Musu
Join in a celebration of African heritage and culture when the newly formed Akofena Afro-Theatre Society and Time Will Tell Arts Society present King Musu, an African theatre adaptation of Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex. This production features a blend of African storytelling, music, dance and drama. Note: King Musu contains mature themes, including verbal and physical abuse.

Ballet Jorgen’s Sleeping Beauty
Enjoy Ballet Jörgen’s unique classical ballet rendition of Sleeping Beauty, when its World Premiere Tour hits the local stage. The new ballet tells the enchanting story of Aurora and her prince, complete with its inherently magical qualities and dazzling choreography.

Rotary bottle drop
Support local charities and community programs by dropping off your recyclable beverage containers at the Royal City Rotary’s monthly bottle drop. Joy of Mending
Attend a mending circle where you can get help with basic sewing, hemming and darning techniques that will help extend the life of your clothing items. Local climate leaders Cheryl Lewis and Kristen Andrews are hosting the Joy of Mending session where you can get help sewing a seam, hemming your pants, or darning your socks. Community members aged 12 and older are invited to bring their projects to this mending circle; some supplies are provided so you can bring your projects – or you can just drop by and learn how it’s done.

Perogy-making bee
Roll up your sleeves and help out at a perogy-making bee. This session is open to experienced and first-time perogy makers. All supplies and tools for this fun perogy-making bee are included. Coffee and treats will be supplied to volunteers.

Art Sunday’s free arts programming features an engaging artist talk and hands-on workshop exploring the art of wordbuilding and storytelling with artist PJ Patten. Whether you're an artist, a storyteller, or simply curious, everyone is welcome to attend this workshop to learn, create, and be inspired.

Tech Drop-in with Teens Teach Technology
Connect with local teens who are ready to offer help community members with their devices in a multitude of ways, including answering questions about websites, setting up email, Google Docs and new phones, providing assistance in transferring photos – and more. This weekend’s Tech Drop-in is facilitated by volunteers from Teens Teach Technology, in collaboration with the New Westminster Public Library.

Super Bowl
