It's that time of year: decorations are going up, lights are being strung and local shops are playing Christmas music for shoppers.
For some, it's a season of celebration, but for others - both individuals facing challenges and local organizations that try to help the community - it can be a difficult time as need increases.
To help Royal City residents who are interested in helping out, The Record is once again offering its Guide to Giving to help make giving easier.
The annual Guide to Giving helps inform local residents about organizations needing a helping hand.
It includes a listing of non-profit organizations to give readers some choices of where to volunteer their time, give goods or donate cash.
Whether it's groups helping the homeless or less fortunate, children or animals, the guide helps inform residents about non-profit groups in need of their help at Christmas - and throughout the year.
The Record will publish the Guide to Giving in a mid-December issue of the newspaper.
To be included in the 2011 Guide to Giving, contact reporter Theresa McManus by Dec. 1 at tmcmanus@ royalcityrecord.com or 604-444-3003.
