The Royal Columbian hospital Auxiliary is in need of volunteers to support its efforts to raise money for the hospital.
Lindy Kirkwood, president of the Royal Columbian Hospital Auxiliary, said all three of the groups’ fundraising venues are looking for volunteers – the RCH lotto booth, the gift shop in the hospital and the New to You Thrift Shop.
Volunteers must be 18 years old and have proof of vaccination for Covid-19, two written references and a criminal record check. They’ll undergo a telephone interview and will have to commit to nine months of volunteering with some days off permitted).
Training will be provided. After nine months of volunteering, volunteers can request a letter of reference.
Here’s how you can help:
* RCH Lotto Booth (located in RCH) needs volunteers Monday to Thursday. Shifts are from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
* RCH Auxiliary Gift Shop (located in RCH) needs volunteers Monday to Friday. The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Shifts are from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1 to 4:30 p.m.
* New to You Thrift Shop (located at 706 Sixth Ave.) needs volunteers for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and volunteers work a minimum of four hours per week, all on one day. The shifts are usually 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or later) and 1 to 5 p.m. (or an earlier start time).
