Grab your beads and your mask and get ready to enjoy some New Orleans-style fun.

New West Artists are hosting a fundraising masquerade dinner and dance on Saturday, March 7 at the Royal City Curling Club lounge.

The Mardi Gras-themed fun will include entertainment by Razzmajazz, a New Orleans-style band that offers up traditional jazz Creole, Dixieland and blues-style music.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. The planned menu includes a Creole/Cajun-style dinner with vegetarian dirty rice, chicken gumbo, veggie gumbo, salad, samosas and apple crumble.

Tickets are $39 per person, and a cash bar will be available.

Seating is limited, so RSVP in advance to 604-525-4566.

(You can pay by e-transfer to [email protected].)

The night is a fundraiser for New West Artists, a local non-profit society that was formed to inspire, encourage and celebrate visual artists. It welcomes visual artists of all levels, from hobby artists to full-time professionals, and it runs a gallery at 712C 12th St.

The Royal City Curling Club is at 75 East Sixth Ave. For more on the fundraiser, see www.newwestartists.com.
