A New Westminster concert is getting ready to transport you straight to the birthplace of jazz.
A Night in New Orleans is the next outing in the Piva Presents: Jazz at the Anvil concert series. It’s onstage Tuesday, March 21 at 7 p.m., featuring the talents of acclaimed pianist Doc Fingers.
“Doc Fingers (known simply as Doc) will take you into the heartbeat of this vibrant landscape—just what the Doctor ordered,” says a write-up about the concert. “As one of the predominant piano players, Doc can tickle the keys like no other."
Doc has played with titans such as Chuck Berry, John Lee Hooker, Mississippi John Hurt and Lee Oscar, to name a few.
Now he’ll be onstage at the Anvil Theatre (777 Columbia St.). Tickets are $35 to $55, plus service charges; buy online.
Proceeds of the Piva Presents concert series go to the NWSS music department.
