A “fun and funky” downtown art space is playing host to the New West Artists’ next show.
The artist group is hosting its Art Squared 2023 show at Arrieta Art Studio on Front Street. An opening reception is set for Saturday, Feb. 11 from 4 to 6 p.m.
“We are thrilled to have a show at this fun and funky Front Street space,” wrote New West Artists’ Robbin Sheriland and Janet Kvammen in an email.
The show features art in a 12"x12" square format.
“It is a popular size to work with, and small enough to find a spot for it in your space,” the artists explain. “Large artworks are fantastic, but not everyone has the wall space (or wallet) for them, so this size is great."
The opening reception will be followed at 6:30 p.m. by the APT POP Poetry Floodlight reading, part of a monthly series where both emerging and established poets can share their work.
If you can’t make it on opening night, the Art Squared 2023 show will be up at the studio until the end of the month.
Arrieta Art Studio, at 707 Front St., is open Thursdays to Sundays from 1 to 8 p.m. For a full list of classes and events, check out the Arrieta website or Instagram.
