The City of New Westminster is looking for performers for Canada Day 2020.

The city is seeking individual and group acts to submit proposals to perform during the city’s celebrations at Queen’s Park on Wednesday, July 1.

“We are looking for acts that will engage the community as well as celebrate the spirit and multicultural heritage of New Westminster,” says a city call for submissions.

The city is looking for mainstage entertainment, as well as roving performers (mobile and interactive) and “wild card” performances – acts described as “participatory, pop-up, playful, unexpected.”

Criteria for choosing performers will include availability, suitability for the audience, connections to New Westminster and technical requirements.

All performers will receive honorariums, negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

Submissions must include a description of the act or group, including performance history and ties to New Westminster (up to one page long), preferred length of performance, artist fees for a 20-minute performance, tech rider and stage plot, and links to performer website, videos and other relevant online content.

Submissions must be sent by Tuesday, March 31 at 4 p.m. to Hannah Bennett, arts services department, Anvil Centre, 777 Columbia St., New Westminster, V3M 1B6. For information, call 604-515-3837 or email [email protected].
