They're looking for performers with a little extra silver sparkle.
The Sapperton Old Age Pensioners and New Westminster Lions Club are looking for performers for the upcoming Seniors Have Talent! show.
Auditions are being held on Sunday, Sept. 15 at the Sapperton Pensioners Hall, 318 Keary St. (near the corner of East Columbia).
Those who succeed at the auditions will have a chance to perform for an audience on Saturday, Oct. 5, when the show will start at 1:30 p.m. The event is open to all performers aged 55 and up, and it's open to solo performers or groups of two, three or four.
"If you, or someone you know, can sing, dance, tell a story, recite their own poetry, play a musical instrument, conjure magic, juggle, do rope tricks, ventrioloquize, come and audition on our stage," a press release invites performers. "The goal is to captivate an audience in 4.5 minutes or less. Any time over and the act is in the bleachers."
The final show will have space for 12 contestants (or up to 14 if the judges have trouble choosing at the auditions).
First place will win $200 cash, second will earn $100 and third will take home $50 - with an added bonus for each.
Auditions will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15.
