If your Father's Day weekend plans include a road trip, you may want to top up your vehicle's gas tank today, June 13.
GasBuddy.com says New Westminster's cheapest price for fuel has increased by three cents to $1.74 per litre, as of this publication, at the Centex and GOMarket on Ewen Avenue (see list below).
Despite the uptick, that number is the third least expensive in all of Metro Vancouver. The regional low sits at $1.71 per litre at Richmond's Petro Canada on Williams Road.
The change comes after several weeks of slowing declining prices that reached as low as $1.70 per litre.
The biggest increase was six cents to $1.83 from $1.77 at the Esso and 7-Eleven on 6th Street.
New West's average price for gas, as a result of the change in direction, has gone up three cents in the last week to $1.81 per litre.
B.C.'s most affordable fuel station is offering motorists $1.53 per litre at the Central Avenue Super Save Gas in Grand Forks.
The cheapest price within driving distance of New Westminster is $1.59 per litre at three Centex and GOMarket locations in Chilliwack — roughly 80 km west on Highway 1.
