The Queensborough Residents' Association’s all-candidates meeting is living up to its name — all five New Westminster-Burnaby-Maillardville candidates will be attending this week’s meeting.

The meeting is being held on Wednesday, April 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Queensborough Community Centre, 920 Ewen Ave.

Laurie David Moore, president of the residents’ association, confirmed all five candidates will be in attendance at Wednesday’s event.

  • Peter Julian, New Democratic Party
  • Indy Panchi, Conservative Party of Canada
  • Jake Sawatzky, Liberal Party of Canada
  • Tara Shustarian, Green Party of Canada
  • Lourence Almonte Singh, independent

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. so attendees are advised to arrive early.

After each candidate has three minutes to address the audience about why they are running, their experience, and what they hope to accomplish, organizers will pose a series of questions to candidates; each candidate, in rotation, will have two minutes to answer.

In an effort to ensure candidates were prepared for the meeting, organizers provided them with the questions ahead of time.

Following the question-and-answer section of the meeting, each candidate will be given two minutes for wrap-up comments.

“This should take us to about 8:30/8:40 p.m.,” said a notice about the meeting. “There will then be time to mingle with residents to 9 p.m.”
