Sales of detached homes in New Westminster are climbing again — and so are prices.
March saw 16 detached homes sold in New West, according to MLS monthly sales statistics reported by Zealty.ca.
That’s up from February, when just 11 detached homes were sold. March’s total was just slightly behind November 2022, when 17 detached homes were sold in New West — the highest number since May.
Despite the uptick, though, the pace of home sales this year remains lower than the two previous years. March of 2022 saw 29 detached homes sold in New West, while March of 2021 saw a whopping 46 detached homes sold.
The median sold price for detached homes also ticked up last month, from $1,225,000 in February to $1,473,500 in March.
That price remains well off the two-year peak of $1,701,500, which New Westminster hit in April 2022.
The highest median sold price in March was reported in Queensborough, at $1,725,300. The lowest was uptown, at $1,155,000.
