Hundreds of Santas spotted racing through New West

If you saw Santa Claus out getting some exercise on Sunday, you weren’t dreaming. If you saw hundreds of Santa Clauses looking fit and energetic, you weren’t dreaming either.

If you saw hundreds of Santa Clauses looking fit and energetic, you weren’t dreaming either.

It was all part of the Aqua Santa race that began at the Burnaby Running Room and ended five kilometres away at the Aqua at Plaza 88 in New Westminster.

This event was part of the Aqua at Plaza 88 Virtual Santa Race, which allows participants to complete a 5 km run or walk anytime between Nov. 24 and Dec. 26 from anywhere in the world. Each virtual racer receives a package with a run-friendly Santa Suit, which includes of a jacket, pants, hat, beard and belt, along with a race biband medal. There have been over 4,500 participants so far in the last four weeks.
