Letter: Good riddance to those New Westminster cottonwoods

This writer wants the beavers to get busy in other New West neighbourhoods.

Stumps are all that remain of cottonwood trees — some very substantial in size — that had to be removed at Sapperton Landing Park. This New West resident is cheering their removal.

Editor:

I say "Yay!!" to the removal of cottonwoods at Sapperton Landing

I am among the many who are allergic to those towers of pollen.

Kudos to the city for replacing them with lovely trees that are not cottonwood.

Now, we just have to get the beavers busy on the cottonwood trees along the train tracks near the McInnes overpass. Every spring they are the bane of my and many others' existence.
