Tim Hortons workers in New Westminster, and thousands more across the country, are hoping to inspire the community to give this holiday season.
Even if that's the change out of your pocket or a small purchase on your card for a tasty treat.
The nation-wide restaurant chain is launching its second Holiday Smile Cookie campaign tomorrow, Nov. 18, and runs until next Sunday, Nov. 24.
According to Tim Hortons, 100 per cent of proceeds will be donated to charity organizations that provide aid, food or educational programming to kids and families in need.
The baked good, at $1.50 plus tax, is a white chocolate sugar cookie with red and green sprinkles basked into it and will be sold at five locations across New West (see map below).
Each cookie is then decorated with white icing in the shape of a smile.
Beneficiaries from the local restaurants include Food Banks of Canada and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
Last year, the inaugural fundraiser collected more than $9.8 million for local charities and community groups.
"Supporting communities is at the heart of the Tim Hortons brand and there’s no better time than the holiday season for us to rally with guests, Tims restaurant owners and team members to spread kindness right across Canada,” said Axel Schwan, president of Tim Hortons, in a news release.
"Since 1996, Canadians have shown incredible support for our iconic Smile Cookie program, which has now raised over $129 million for charities and community groups."
