For those teens who can't get enough of Suzanne Collins and The Hunger Games, the excitement doesn't have to end with the final book of the trilogy.

The New Westminster Public Library has several other related titles for Hunger Games enthusiasts.

The Hunger Games Companion: The Unauthorized Guide to the Series, by Lois Gresh, contains background facts about the books and the author, while The Hunger Games: The Official Illustrated Movie Companion (Kate Egan) and Beyond District 12: The Stars of the Hunger Games (Mick O'Shea) take readers behind the scenes of the Hollywood blockbuster.

If you liked the music featured in the movie, the library has the CD The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond which features popular artists such as Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift.

And both The World of the Hunger Games (Kate Egan) and The Hunger Games Tribute Guide (Emily Seife) provide details on all the participants in the Games.

For the readers who are ready to move on from The Hunger Games franchise but don't know where to start, the library also has booklists for children and teens.

The suggested books have similar themes such as dystopia, survival, and apocalyptic environments.

For teens and advanced readers, try James Dashner's Maze Runner trilogy or Saci Lloyd's Carbon Diaries books.

For science fiction readers, Michael Grant's Gone series and Scott Westerfield's Uglies trilogy are also on the suggested list.

Teens 12 years and up can join the Teen Summer Reading Club starting June 11.

This year's theme is Feed the Hunger, and the grand prize is $100 you can use towards an eReader or a gift card of your choosing.

We're also holding a summer-long Hunger Games event starting Friday, July 6.

If you rise to the weekly challenges, you could win our Hunger Games gift pack.

The Summer Reading Club for elementary school students begins in June also. Check out the library's website at www.nwpl.ca for more details or call the library at 604-527-4677.
