New West councillors are working to connect with community members – outside of council chambers.

Despite a hefty meeting schedule that includes three meetings on Monday, Nov. 4, three New Westminster city councillors are inviting locals to join them at two events in the coming days.

Sunday, Nov. 3

What’s happening? Coun. Ruby Campbell is inviting community members to join her in celebrating Diwali in Queensborough. The get together is intended to be a time for enjoying coffee/tea, cookies, and conversation.

  • When: Sunday, Nov. 3: Drop in between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  • Where: Take the Cake Café, 1110 Ewen Ave.

Thursday, Nov. 7

What’s happening? City councillors Daniel Fontaine and Paul Minhas are hosting the latest edition of their Councillor Café series – this one is the Sapperton Edition. Local residents and business owners are invited to drop by for a coffee and snacks and meet the councillors and their neighbours. They'll be focusing on traffic and transportation, but any topic is on the table for discussion.
