Lanes closures are coming to roads on the New West side of the Pattullo Bridge.

More changes are coming to New West roads as part of the Pattullo Bridge replacement project.

Starting tonight, crews will be installing underground utilities along Royal Avenue, McBride Boulevard, Columbia Street, and Bridge Connector within the project area.

“While this work is underway, one lane will remain open in each direction and a second lane may be closed intermittently,” said a notice from the project team. “This work will continue for approximately two months.”

According to the notice, the lane closures will take place between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. Lane closures will not be required every night.

“Saw-cutting activities are required as part of this work. Periods of noise are expected; however, these activities will be conducted as early in the evening as possible,” said the notice.

In February, the team working on the Pattullo Bridge replacement project announced it required a one-month closure of Front Street so Fraser Crossing Partners could do a variety of works related to the new bridge deck.

While Front Street has been closed to traffic, businesses on Front Street are still open and can be accessed via the Front Street Mews.

During this full closure of Front Street, drivers have been detoured to Columbia Street.
