A third suspect has been charged in connection to a kidnapping that occurred in New Westminster in April – and police say their investigation isn’t over.
On the evening of April 25, 2023 the New Westminster Police Department learned a New West resident had been kidnapped. Two men were arrested and charged following the rescue of the hostage.
On Dec. 9, a third suspect was taken into custody, with assistance from the Kitimat RCMP detachment, and charged in connected to the kidnapping.
“The New Westminster Major Crime Unit will not rest until every person involved in the planning and act of this kidnapping has been arrested and charged,” said NWPD spokesperson Sgt. Andrew Leaver. “This investigation is by no means over.”
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Major Crime Unit by calling 604-529-2430 or emailing [email protected].
Earlier this year, the NWPD reported that two armed suspects were intercepted by police and the hostage was rescued, based on evidence obtained during this “rapidly unfolding” investigation.
The New Westminster Police Department’s Major Crime Unit led the investigation, with support provided by other NWPD specialty units and numerous police agencies throughout the region. That included the RCMP, the Vancouver Police Department, Metro Vancouver Transit Police, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, and the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team.
Earlier this year, Kyle Clark Dimond, a Kamloops resident, was charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon and use of an imitation firearm. Marc Kevin Valcourt, a Vernon resident, was charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement and use of an imitation firearm.
On Dec. 9, Jordan Bullach was taken into custody and charged in connection to the kidnapping. Bullach, a 29-year-old Kitimat resident, has been charged with kidnapping and unlawful confinement.
