When students return to the classroom next week, they may notice some new faces in the school office.
Over the summer, New West Schools has made some changes to the principals at some of the local schools. Here is a rundown of the staffing shuffle that took place over the summer months:
- Paul Manville, who had been on leave of absence, has now been appointed as the principal of Herbert Spencer Elementary.
- Ken Millard, who has been the principal at Lord Kelvin Elementary for years, is on the move; he has been appointed principal at Skwo:wech Elementary School.
- Jennifer Scorda, who was on leave of absence, has returned. She has been appointed principal at Lord Kelvin Elementary School.
- Tu Loan Trieu, who had been serving as acting principal at Connaught Heights Elementary School and the Home Learners program, has formally become the principal of Connaught Heights and the Home Learners program.
- Murray McLeod, who was the principal of New Westminster Secondary School, has been appointed as the principal of Ecole Glenbrook Middle School.
- Chris Evans, who has been the principal at Ecole Glenbrook Middle School, is now the principal of Fraser River Middle School. (Jen Davis, who was the principal at Fraser River Middle School, went on a leave of absence in May. In her absence, vice-principal Greg Patton was serving as the acting principal at FRMS; with Evans’ arrival, Patton has returned to his role of vice-principal.)
- Susana Quan, who has been a senior vice-principal at New Westminster Secondary School/SIGMA, is now the principal of New Westminster Secondary School/SIGMA.
