Steel & Oak is adding a touch of gold to its taproom for all to see.
The New Westminster brewery — located at 1319 3rd Ave. — won three individual honours at the 2023 BC Beer Awards this past weekend, including two first-place medals.
A panel of judges tasted Steel & Oak's award-winning beers out of a total of 925 entries in 29 categories for this year's event, held at the Croatian Cultural Centre in Vancouver on Saturday, Oct. 21.
The Quayside company's Megalith concoction triumphed in the Strong Ale and Lager contest, while its Sunglow suds took home the top prize in the Weissbier division.
Steel & Oak's third medal was a bronze, claimed in Sour and Wild Ale category for its Berliner Weisse.
The business is part of the North of the Fraser route of the BC Ale Trail.
