Don't forget: The Patullo Bridge is off limits to drivers this weekend — starting tonight (Thursday, April 6).
As part of the Pattullo Bridge replacement project, there will be full closure of the Pattullo Bridge from April 6 to 11.
Starting at 10 p.m. on Thursday, April 6 and continuing until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, the crossing between New West and Surrey will be closed in both directions so Fraser Crossing Partners can complete soil densification activities in the roadway at the south end of the bridge in Surrey, paving, and relocation of the seismic warning system for the existing bridge.
According to the project team, the warning system will be temporarily disconnected during this time and must be completed with no traffic on the bridge, to ensure the safety of motorists.
TransLink will also be conducting bridge work, including speed sign relocation, line painting and concrete patching. It will also be doing inspections that require rope access onto the overhead bridge truss.
People who would normally be travelling over the Pattullo Bridge are encouraged to take the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridges during the closure.
Northbound and southbound N19 NightBus trips will be rerouted over the Queensborough and Alex Fraser bridges, and affected customers should plan for an additional 30 minutes of travel time.
The bridge will remain open to pedestrians, cyclists, and first responders at all times.
