It was three long years in coming, but the Hyack International Parade returned to the streets of New Westminster Saturday to the delight of folks of all ages.
An appreciative crowd lined the parade route along Sixth Street and Queens Avenue on May 28 to greet extravagant floats, dancers, marching bands, cultural and community organizations, and an array of local VIPs — including, of course, members of the May Queen Suite and the Miss New Westminster Ambassadors.
The post-parade party then moved to Tipperary Park, where folks took in entertainment, food, market vendors and family fun.
it was the first full-fledged live festival since the pre-COVID edition in 2019.
Record photographer Jennifer Gauthier was on scene to capture the action.
