The New Westminster school district is inviting everyone in for a tour of the new NWSS – virtually.
Since COVID-19 prevents the school district from throwing open the doors and inviting folks inside, the district has instead produced a video highlighting the new secondary school. The school opened for classes in January after its completion – originally set for September 2020 – was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new video was unveiled at the April 27 school board meeting.
It showcases student and staff reaction to the airy, glass-filled space that is the new high school, starting with their entrance into the sweeping Grand Commons area.
“It has captured a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gather the images and reactions of both students and staff as they enter the new high school for the very first time,” said superintendent Karim Hachlaf.
Hachlaf noted the video will help the district supplement its marketing for its international education program and also serve as a tool to help in recruitment of new employees at job fairs.
