Dear Editor: The Global Fund to fight aids, tuberculosis and malaria has significantly reduced mortality associated with these diseases since its establishment in 1990. But the needs remain: in 2011, 1.4 million people worldwide still died of tuberculosis.

Canada's fair contribution to the Global Fund, as a developed country, would be $750 million over three years.

I am sure most Canadians want Canada to continue contributing its fair share to the Global Fund to save the lives of many of our brothers and sisters around the world.
