Scott Larsen sees a lot of lovely things living in New West on the Fraser River.
Some alarming things too – like an untethered log boom.
Larsen sent in photos he took Wednesday afternoon around 3 p.m. as this giant log boom was floating by – creating a potentially dangerous object for boats.
Larsen lives on the North Arm of the Fraser River off Poplar Island and he said the log boom was actually carried up river by the tide toward the railroad bridge.
Larsen says this isn’t the first time he’s seen untethered log booms. He reported this one and advises other people to do the same if they spot one.
