For most of the past 15 years my car has been my primary mode of transportation. I've survived the city's Cool Streets initiative, the extended sidewalks during COVID and now bike lanes.
Navigating all these initiatives to give cyclists and pedestrians more priority has never caused me stress, made me late for work, or caused me any other kind of inconvenience. I actually welcome them knowing they're going to keep more vulnerable road users safe.
I'm also happy to see the city making the commitment to address our infrastructure deficit by installing permanent bike lanes instead of the temporary ones. The completion of the AAA cycle network is going to be something all New Westers can benefit from.
