Re: Letter: Grouse Grind closure a disservice to the public (Aug. 17, 2023).
Totally agree with Stefan Forrestal that the local government should keep its nose out of "improving" natural sites like the Grouse Grind.
Of course, you are not really a Vancouverite or Lower Mainlander if you have NOT done the Grind, but it's for the hale, hearty and adventurous.
No crybabies or scaredy cats allowed.
We did it in the early 1970s, when young and foolish, but like any nature trek, you don't expect it to be easy.
Unlike us, you go prepared: proper shoes, backpack with med kit, snacks, flashlight, warm blankie, etc.
Today, you probably get cell phone reception.
