Re: From Dewey to Deer: How NWSS is working to decolonize its library

This appears to be a trend in many elementary schools in the U.S. and Canada. If it helps younger students find materials, all well and good.

However, high school students need to learn how to use public libraries and university libraries, neither of which appear to be ditching Dewey or the Library of Congress classifications. Melvil Dewey may well have exemplified the racist and sexist attitudes of his era, but his system works.
