Traffic and schools are among the issues being highlighted.

Responding to Sarah Arboleda's letter in the June 22nd edition:

She has missed the point entirely of why people don't want this (Columbia Square) development.  Respectfully suggest she re-read the letters that clearly state concerns regarding transit, parking, etc. She did not acknowledge that existing schools need air conditioning and she suggests we need even more schools?  Fix the ones we have first!

Just as a side note, this morning (June 23rd) it was difficult walking down Carnarvon because of ongoing construction on one side, and Waste Management and another company working on the other side blocking the sidewalk.  A neighbour also told me it is normally a five-minute drive to Save-On at Columbia Square, but now it takes 40 minutes.

And Ms. Arboleda wants more construction in the area?

Not only schools but doctors will be needed in the area. Health and education should be a priority.

In most European countries, rental housing is owned by the government with rent controls; either the provincial and/or federal governments should step in.

Some solutions will be needed for the added traffic in the area.
