Dear Editor:
Re: Concerns grow over proposed coal facility, The Record, March 13.
It is time to stop mining and exporting coal, not just for our community but for the good of the planet.
Think about it - two trains full of coal, every day, leaving a black filthy trail through White Rock and Surrey, blowing into the rivers and ocean, spills and eventual 'accidents' aside.
We have lots of wind, sun and tides to supply energy as do the countries importing coal.
It is a matter of greed. Port Metro Vancouver even boasts they don't have to consult municipalities and the pollution is not their problem, concern or interest.
NIMBY, not in my province, my country or my planet.
Stop the insanity.
