Recycling Pop-Up
Drop off your depot-only recyclables at the City of New Westminster’s recycling pop-up event, where solid waste staff will be able to answer questions and help guide you on how to recycle right in the city’s ongoing effort to minimize recycling contamination. Items being accepted are: soft and hardcover books; soft, flexible plastics; Styrofoam; textiles and clothing; small household appliances (ex. Toasters, coffee makers, etc.); and small scrap metals (ex. pots and pans, broken hammers, etc.) The city will not be accepting glass, garbage, large appliances or electronics, large scrap metals or other items not mentioned above at this popup.

Herbert Spencer Christmas Craft Fair
Get into the holiday spirit at Herbert Spencer’s annual Christmas craft fair, which features more than 60 professional artisans and vendors, a bake sale and bistro serving food, drinks, and sweets. Be sure to drop by Candy Cane Lane, where Herbert Spencer students will sell their own handcrafted items.

Vicky Chow at Anvil Centre
Enjoy an evening of incredible music when Hong Kong/Canadian pianist Vicky Chow takes to the Anvil Theatre stage. Chow, who has performed on stages around the world, has been described as “brilliant” by the New York Times.

Small Masterpieces exhibition
Enjoy a cup of hot apple cider and festive treats while you shop from the many treasures at the Van Dop Gallery’s annual Small Masterpieces exhibition. The Van Dop Gallery, a unique home-gallery founded in 1996, exhibits a curated multi-collection of contemporary artworks by Canadian artists in-house and online.

Super Weekend
Learn about common, local mushrooms and their many roles around the Fraser River (including how mushrooms and fungi act as nature’s communication system, connecting plants through the “wood wide web”) at this weekend’s family-friendly Super Weekend.
