A New West pup and its owner have been reunited after the “lightning fast” Italian Greyhound escaped through an open door.
Annabel Dobrovolny was volunteering at the youth drop-in in downtown New West on Tuesday night, when her dog Milo slipped out through an open door. Milo, who was wearing a fleece sweater when he went missing, was last seen on Tuesday night in the area around Stewardson Way and Third Avenue.
After searching for four days – and calling on Pet Searchers for assistance – Milo was found on Saturday morning not far from where he was last seen on Tuesday night – near the pump station on the site next to the Kruger plant. He was located just before Saturday’s brief snowfall.
A jogger reported a sighting of Milo, not far from where he'd last been seen. His owner found him lying on a blanket under a tree.
The family reports that Milo is a bit skinny and tired after his ordeal, but otherwise OK. He’s back at home, where he’s getting lots of cuddles.
Milo’s owner is grateful to Pet Searchers and to all of the folks who spread the word about the missing dog and kept an eye out for him.
