The Rainbow Chorus of New Westminster invites community members to share in the joy of the season at its holiday singalong.
The community choir for LGBTQ2SI+ and their allies is hosting its third annual Festive Singalong. It will take place at The Sanctuary on Sixth on Saturday, Dec. 14th at 1 p.m.
“The chorus will be joining our audience in singing festive favourites of their choice,” said Margaret Cormier, choir admin team chair. “Expect favourites like Let it Snow, Rudolph, Frosty, Winter Wonderland, and many others.”
Everyone is welcome to attend this family-friendly event. Admission is free but donations are appreciated for the choir and for a sock drive.
“We are happy to accept donations to support the chorus,” Cormier said, “and we ask that you bring socks in support of the Purpose Society.”
The Rainbow Chorus of New Westminster is a non-auditioned choir that welcomes everyone, regardless of how much musical experience they have.
“The Rainbow Chorus’s motto is Blending Voices, Changing Hearts and our goal is to make a chorus that anyone who wants to sing, can sing,” Cormier said. “We all love sharing our music and can’t wait for you to join us at the singalong.”
Registration is open to new singers in January and August; details can be found on The Rainbow Chorus of New Westminster FaceBook page.
“We perform two concerts a year – a festive singalong, a performance during Pride NW, and assorted other events throughout the year as requested,” Cormier said. “This year we are also planning a concert in Abbotsford in February.”
