Capture the beauty of the rhododendrons in Queen's Park for the Rhodo Photo Contest.

Rhododendrons in bloom are one of the surest signs that spring has truly arrived in New Westminster – and local photographers are being given a chance to celebrate that fact.

The Gallery at Queen’s Park and the New Westminster Photography Club are presenting a Rhodo Photo Contest, ongoing until May 31.

The subject? The “beautiful and bountiful” rhododendron bushes outside Centennial Lodge and in Queen’s Park. All styles of photography and editing are welcome – black-and-white, macro, portrait, landscape, selfie, manipulated or non-manipulated … the choice is yours.

“The purpose of the contest is creative expression and appreciation of nature,” says a press release.

To be eligible to win, you just have to follow four simple steps:

1. Photograph the rhododendrons in Queen’s Park.

2. Post the photograph on Instagram.

3. Include the tags: @thegalleryqp #thegalleryatqueenspark #rhodophoto_acnw

4. Tag one friend.

The Rhodo Photo Contest winner will be chosen on May 31, so get shooting!
