Live chamber music is returning to New Westminster.
The Vancouver Chamber Music Society is bringing its concert series back to the Anvil Centre Theatre for 2022.
First up is a Feb. 6 performance by the Vancouver Cello Quartet: Lee Duckles, Luke Kim, Cristian Márkos and Kevin Park. Their program includes arrangements of classical treasures from around the world, including Mozart’s Divertimento in D, Stravinsky’s Suite Italienne and Ravel’s Pavane pour un Infante Defunte.
The concert is at 3 p.m., and tickets are $25 to $35.
On Feb. 28, local audiences will be able to enjoy a performance by two internationally acclaimed performers: Israeli-American cellist Amit Peled and pianist Noreen Polera. Their program includes J.S. Bach’s Sonata No. 3 in G minor for Viola da Gamba and Piano, and Brahms’ Sonata No. 1 in E minor.
Springtime concerts include violinist Jinjoo Choo on April 10, and a May 1 performance of Beethoven’s complete cello sonatas featuring renowned cellist Gary Hoffman and pianist David Selig.
COVID-19 protocols are in place at the theatre; all attendees aged 12 and up are required to show proof of full vaccination, and mask-wearing is required for everyone older than five years of age.
Tickets for all concerts are available online.
