Another visiting deer has been spotted on the streets of New Westminster.
Though urban deer sightings are rarely reported in New West, another cervine visitor has made an appearance in the city — just a couple of weeks after the last one delighted residents across town.
Reader Karen Larsen sent in a photo of the deer spotted at 14th and Edinburgh streets this past Saturday morning (June 10).
Another resident in the New Westies are the Besties group on Facebook reported a sighting near 12th and Edinburgh.
An earlier deer sighting in the city, on May 25, led New Westminster Animal Services to issue an alert to residents via Facebook.
“Please do not approach or go near the deer, as that will cause him/her to panic, which is dangerous for their safety,” the post read. “Give the deer a wide berth. Let them rest. They will likely move along when it is dark and quiet.”
The post said the deer had likely been “waylaid” on a trek.
