Have you always been inspired by those public speakers on stage who had the ability to move people with every word they spoke?
With this outdoor public speaking meeting in New West, you too can learn to be a better speaker and leader.
Douglas Toastmasters, a local Toastmasters club in New West, is organizing a special meeting for members and guests to come together in a safe space for an hour and a half in New Westminster’s Queen Park and improve their communication and public skills — and meet new people.
The club, which holds weekly meetings online and in-person every Tuesday, will be setting up at picnic shelter 2 in Queen’s Park on Sept. 12 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. People of all ages are encouraged to come and learn techniques of public speaking and improve leadership skills.
The Sept. 12 event will be free and focus on travel adventures.
Toastmasters is an international non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking skills worldwide and helps people become better speakers and leaders.
No registration is required. For more information, check the group's meetup event.
