Do you have dash-cam or CCTV footage to help find a man missing in New West?

New Westminster police appeal for dash-cam or CCTV footage that may help them find a high-risk missing person.

New Westminster police are continuing to search for a high-risk missing person – and are seeking dash-cam or CCTV footage from two locations.

New Westminster Police Department investigators continue to search for a man, Magnus, who was reported missing on Tuesday, May 14. Detectives are working in partnership with neighbouring police agencies and members of the public to search areas he has been known to frequent and to raise awareness about the missing man.

Magnus is described as a 38-year-old Asian male, standing 5’11” tall, weighing 180 pounds, and having brown eyes and black hair that’s worn in a ponytail. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with a yellow sun decal over the left chest, black Lululemon joggers, and a black Lululemon puffer jacket.

The New Westminster Police Department first sought the public’s help in locating Magnus on Tuesday, but detectives are now asking the public to provide dash-cam or CCTV footage of two specific locations (from two different days) to assist in the search:

  • The area bounded by Sixth Street to Eighth Street and Eighth Avenue to Front Street. Dash-cam or CCTV footage is requested from Monday, May 13, between the hours of 9:45 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.
  • The Port Mann Bridge (on the shoulder of the highway) from Tuesday, May 14, between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.

“As time goes on the concern for Magnus’s well-being intensifies,” said NWPD Sgt. Andrew Leaver. “Please check your CCTV and dash-cam footage to see if you were in these locations at time specified. We need your help in finding Magnus.”

If you see Magnus, investigators ask that you call 911 immediately.
