When kids head to Ecole Qayqayt Elementary School on Monday morning, their former school will be a shadow of its former self.
Demolition of John Robson Elementary School got underway earlier this week, with much of the building reduced to rubble by Friday. The school was built in 1928.
Students at John Robson are moving into their new school on Merivale Street, and a new Ecole Fraser River Middle School is being built at the John Robson site.
A city report stated the building was originally erected as one of the structures for Trapp Technical School, but was later converted to John Robson Elementary School.
