If you are still looking for a Valentine’s Day gift idea — one that’s not a bouquet of red roses or a box of heart-shaped cookies, a New West art gallery has you covered.
Van Dop Gallery is bringing back its annual day-long exhibition that especially focuses on works that celebrate love and friendship. Aptly named Heart to Heart, the show will feature handmade works of more than 30 Canadian artists, including Burnaby-based contemporary fused glass artist Violet Finvers and Vancouver-based mixed media artist Megan MacDonald.
Trudy Van Drop, the gallery owner, who has been hosting the annual exhibition for over 20 years, said, “At the Van Dop Gallery we firmly believe that a gift worth giving is one that can be treasured forever.”
“This Valentine's gift that will be a reminder of your love and friendship for years to come.”
At the show, which is set in a “home and garden” environment, you will have a chance to see artworks in a variety of mediums including glass, ceramic, metal, wood, fibre, among others, that are appropriate (priced $35 and up) for friends, family, and lovers, she added.
Check out the exhibition at Van Dop Gallery (421 Richmond St.) on Saturday, Feb. 11, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Featured artist Finvers will be giving a talk between 1 and 4 p.m. as part of the event. For more details, check out Van Dop Gallery website.
