It’s Giving Tuesday — and you’re invited to take a moment to help a good cause in your community.
Tuesday, Nov. 29 marks the Giving Tuesday event for 2022.
Giving Tuesday is a worldwide initiative that was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.
“The idea caught on and has grown around the world, inspiring hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity,” as the Giving Tuesday website explains.
The 2021 event included 47 local community movements across Canada, bringing in a reported $43.6 million donated online for a wide range of charitable causes.
Anyone wanting to connect with a local charity can do so via CanadaHelps.org. These New Westminster-based charities are among those taking part in this year’s Giving Tuesday event:
