Yes, despite the prices for gas in New Westminster are still above $2 per litre, the numbers are on the decline ahead of the first weekend of May.
The cheapest available in the city is $2.02 per litre at the Centex and GOMarket on Ewen Avenue — a drop of six cents compared to last Friday, April 27 (see list below).
According to GasBuddy.com's latest report, that's the third lowest price for fuel in Metro Vancouver behind the Canco on Fraser Highway through Surrey at $1.98 per litre.
In fact, some New West outlets dropped by as much as six cents to bring the average down to $2.05 per litre.
That's seven cents cheaper compared to $2.12 last week.
New West's biggest drop in price was 11 cents to $2.04 per litre at the Petro-Canada on 12th Street.
Meanwhile, B.C.'s least expensive price for gas, as of this publication, May 3, is listed at $1.59 per litre at the Esso in Pouce Coupe — located south of Dawson Creek.
